Data Protection Statement

Members' details are held in electronic form by the Cambridge University Mountaineering Club Committee. Members' names and addresses are also forwarded to the BMC for insurance and registration purposes.

Safety

The CUMC is run for climbers by climbers, and we operate on a basis of trust. No one in the club is qualified to instruct you. Whilst every effort is made to ensure safe practice is followed and members are educated about risks of the sport, it is impossible to eliminate all risk.

You must be at least 18 years old to join the club. We regret that we cannot accept members under 18 years of age.

By ticking the "Accept Terms and Conditions" box below and submitting this form you agree that:

1. You have read, understood and agree to the Data Protection Statement and Safety conditions.

2. You understand and accept the BMC participation statement, which is endorsed by CUMC: 'The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

3. You have read and agree to the club's constitution.

4. You agree to inform the person or persons listed above as "Emergency Contact" that you have nominated them as such, and may be participating in CUMC activities where there is an inherent risk.
